A Celebration for Children and Communities
Children’s Educational & Recreational Programmes: Nurturing Emotional Intelligence
Children’s Educational & Recreational Programmes: Step into a world where joy, learning, and purpose converge. The POP-UP Festival, presented by Meadows Schools in partnership with UNICEF and Six Seconds, is more than just an event – it is a movement. Coinciding with the 9th Annual Uhuru Walk, this festival invites children aged 3–15 to embark on a journey of playful discovery, emotional growth, and global responsibility. Scheduled for Sunday, 19th April 2026 at 7 am (and going on upto 12pm), this gathering is a vibrant prelude to World Children’s Day on 20 November, uniting communities in a shared vision of nurturing young minds.
Why POP-UP Festival Matters
Children are the architects of tomorrow. The POP-UP Festival is designed to help them build emotional intelligence, resilience, and empathy through interactive activities. It is not simply entertainment—it is a carefully curated experience that empowers children to take action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By participating, families contribute to shaping a generation that values wellbeing, inclusivity, and sustainability.
Playful Encounters, Profound Lessons
Imagine an elephant teaching teamwork, a raccoon sparking curiosity, a lion inspiring courage, and a fox encouraging clever problem-solving. These playful mascots embody the spirit of the festival – learning through fun. Every activity is crafted to balance joy with meaning, ensuring that children leave not only entertained but enlightened.
Discounted Event Entry, FREE joining at the Pop Up Booth
Event Tickets for children under 10 are priced at just TZS 10,000, while registration at the Pop Up booth is free, making this festival accessible to families across Tanzania. This affordability reflects the organisers’ commitment to inclusivity, ensuring that every child, regardless of background, can join in the celebration.
A Call to Volunteers
Beyond the children, the festival invites adults who wish to make a difference. Volunteers are encouraged to join campaigns that support youth well-being globally. By contributing time and energy, volunteers become part of a worldwide movement championing children’s rights and emotional growth. For those ready to step forward, contact +255 784 276750.
Emotional Intelligence Meets Global Goals
The POP-UP Festival is not just about games – it is about cultivating emotional intelligence. Children learn to recognise feelings, manage emotions, and build empathy. These skills are directly linked to achieving the SDGs, from promoting good health and well-being to fostering peace and justice. The festival bridges the gap between personal growth and global responsibility.
A Regional Leader’s Invitation
Banu Dinani-Suleman, a regional leader, extends a heartfelt invitation to families and communities. Her vision is clear: to create spaces where children can thrive emotionally and socially, while contributing to a better world. Her leadership ensures that the festival is not only fun but also deeply impactful.
A Festival with Purpose
Unlike conventional events, the POP-UP Festival is anchored in meaning. It is a celebration of children’s potential, a recognition of their role in shaping the future, and a commitment to nurturing their wellbeing. Every laugh, every game, every shared moment contributes to a larger narrative of hope and progress.
