“Last week was a busy one but every moment and every minute was worthy. I had an opportunity to join other bright minds from Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, and Nigeria to explore nuclear energy, technologies, and various nuclear facilities in Russia.
A trip organised by Rosatom Global and African Young Generation in Nuclear – AYGN being co-ordinated with their own Alena Georgobiani was educative and fun in all ends.
We managed to visit the first science city of Russia, Obnisink, and the first nuclear power plant to be built in the world, Obninsaya NPP.
A tour to the Winter wonderland, Tomsk in Siberia where we managed to experience how Tomsk Polytechnic University is using its own Research reactor for education, i.e. Trainings and Production of neutrons which can be used for NDT tests and research purposes.
Also we had two fine round table discussions both in Tomsk Polytechnic University and National Nuclear Research University (MEPhl) in Obninsk with African students pursuing nuclear education studies in Russia where we managed to share our visions on the future of Africa concerning the nuclear energy and technology perspectives.”
