“How might we create sustainable economic solutions for youth in the region?
USAID approached us 6 weeks ago with this question as part of the YALI Regional Leadership Center East Africa #DesignChallenge. 3 weeks later, we got to present our proposals at the center’s headquarters found at the Chandaria Business Innovation and Incubation Centre in Nairobi. It was truly incredible to learn about all the diverse solutions and great ideas the teams came up with!
Working in a team of highly motivated individuals under the guidance of Emmanuel Nandokha, Waruguru Ituu, and the rest of the highly skilled YALI team, we created a concept, “Zahasha Nawe” that tackles the #sustainability of low income Boda Boda operators, helping them harness and optimize their economic activities to improve and impact their lives.
I am humbled to have been part of this project and proud of our team’s result and the great feedback we received from the elite panel of judges we presented to.
I am also thankful for the mentorship and great lessons we got from the guest speakers that graced the center and Deloitte East Africa for the opportunity to work together.
#Trusttheprocess they told us as we began. A cliche, it was anything but!”
