Celebrating Women’s Impact in Cooperatives

Women’s Empowerment: Empowering Women, Transforming Communities
Women’s Empowerment: In every community, there’s an untapped reservoir of potential, strength, and resilience carried by women who uplift, support, and transform. This August, the Tanzania Federation of Cooperatives (TFC) Ltd proudly opens the gates to that reservoir with the National Women Forum 2025, a gathering designed not just to inspire – but to spark action.
On the 6th and 7th of August 2025, under the high ceilings of JKCC, Dodoma, women from every corner of Tanzania will converge for two days of dialogue, discovery, and empowerment. From 8:30 am to 4:00 pm each day, this forum will shine a light on what happens when women unite through cooperatives – and why it’s time to elevate their voices higher than ever before.
A Vision Rooted in Legacy and Future
The Tanzania Federation of Cooperatives recognises the undeniable truth: when women are empowered, entire communities rise. Through this forum, TFC aims to:
Cultivate practical tools and partnerships that unlock funding, mentorship, and visibility.
Highlight success stories that reflect women’s resilience and innovation.
Build bridges between regions, cultures, and generations of cooperative women.
What to Expect
From hands-on workshops led by seasoned cooperative leaders to keynote sessions that stir the soul, participants will gain not only practical knowledge but also the confidence to champion change in their own cooperatives. Whether you’re a new SACCO leader seeking to expand your reach, or a seasoned organiser eager to give back, this forum offers:
Product showcases from some of the most inspiring women-run cooperatives in Tanzania.
Workshops tailored to financial literacy, cooperative management, and impact storytelling.
Panels on gender equity in cooperative policy and leadership.
Networking lounges for real-time connections that may turn into national movements.
The Power of Shared Success
This is not a conventional conference. It’s a living, breathing exchange of ideas fueled by the real-world experiences of Tanzania’s women. By elevating the likes of Nronga and KAWOSA, the forum doesn’t just celebrate success – it strategically builds upon it. Attendees will walk away with:
Resources tailored for women-led cooperative scaling.
New collaborators and friends across the country.
A deeper understanding of policy frameworks and funding opportunities.
Not Just an Event – A Legacy
Imagine what can happen when more women are recognised as architects of cooperative development. This forum catalyses a national dialogue where women are not only acknowledged, but prioritised. And it’s just the beginning. Participants will leave with toolkits, action plans, and a network ready to amplify their initiatives beyond August 2025.
Whether you’re a government partner, media outlet, entrepreneur, teacher, or community champion, your voice matters here. Your presence signals a commitment to inclusivity, equity, and transformation.

Why this Women’s Empowerment Event
Practical Empowerment Through Knowledge and Visibility
This forum is intentionally structured to go beyond celebration – it’s about equipping women in cooperatives with usable knowledge and visibility. With top-level experts and grassroots mentors sharing proven strategies, participants will receive actionable training in governance, finance, branding, and partnerships. This hands-on learning is designed to immediately elevate the reach and sustainability of local cooperatives.
A Strategic Platform for Policy Influence and Sector Inclusion
The National Women Forum isn’t just symbolic – it’s strategically timed to influence ongoing discussions on cooperative reform and women’s representation. With government stakeholders, development partners, and the media in attendance, this gathering gives women a front-row seat in decision-making spaces that impact the future of cooperatives in Tanzania. The ripple effects of such inclusion reach families, wards, and national programs.
National Recognition and Inspiration Through Success Spotlights
By showcasing real, thriving cooperative models like Arusha SACCOs and Nronga Dairy, the forum not only inspires but validates the success pathways that other women can follow. When a woman sees a peer from her region transform an idea into a powerful cooperative, it breaks barriers. It says, “If she can, I can too.” These testimonies shift mindsets and open doorways to courage, ownership, and ambition.
