Building materials: Reflective Foil Insulation
Building materials:
While it is intended to reflect heat radiation, bulk insulation such as glass wool or rock wool batts are occasionally combined to form composite-type insulation that also insulates against heat transfer by convection and conduction.
A radiant or reflected barrier of a house is yet another name for foil insulation, which is often referred to as reflective insulation.
Foil insulation is the insulation that has a thin layer of reflective foil on one or both sides, and is designed to reflect heat.
Insulation composed of foil can be found in a variety of shapes.
As a backing for concertina-style batts or multi-celled (i.e., rock wool or glass wool) batts, it is typically frequently supplied as sheets for sarking, laminated onto plasterboard or expanded polystyrene (XPS), or supplied as sheets for sarking.
Reflective foil laminates are the collective name for goods made of foil insulation (RFLs).
