The Resort is easily accessible through the Kigamboni Ferry, situated at the mouth of the Dar es Salaam Harbour. The Ministry of Works operates a reliable ferry service between 05.00 hrs and 01.00 hrs daily, including Sundays and Public Holidays, for nominal charges. Emergency service is available between 01.00 hrs and 05.00 hrs.

A new Tarmac road links the East Ferry Point to Mjimwema and beyond. The Resort is situated off this road, 8 km from the East Ferry Point.

Mjimwema is also accessible via Kilwa Road through Kongowe. This road circumvents the Dar es Salaam Harbour and the Mzinga Creek in the South of Dar es Salaam. The Dar es Salaam to Kongowe is a recently rehabilitated Tarmac road (Kilwa Road, 24 km) and from Kongowe to Mjimwema is a new Tarmac road (19 km). This road provides an alternate to the Kigamboni Ferry after service hours or during peak hours.
